Easter 2014

This Easter, we went out to Sydenham to J's aunts house. We celebrated with his sister, mom, step dad, grandparents, cousins, and aunts.
It was a gorgeous sunny day, and we spent at least half of it out on the deck.
Dinner was delicious, but Kaelynn refused to eat. She was tired, overwhelmed, and full of snacks.
I brought snacks: lemon cheesecake muddy buddies in Easter eggs, lemon crinkle cookie, potato chip cookies, and a white chocolate/strawberry dip with shortbread cookies. They seemed to go over well.
Kaelynn got her first bike from Grandma W. She's still a bit too tiny for it, but she loves the compartment on the back.

Spring at last

Spring has finally arrived in our area of the world. This has me super excited. We are at a new house with a new small garden. I am sad about the flowers we left behind, but I get to start over. There is a rose bush and another stump that has started to bud already. I have planted my mini roses outside, due to a very creepy mite infestation. I have dug out my seeds and look forward to sorting them and starting them (even if it is far too early to directly plant outside). I really want to figure out an awesome Fae Garden.
I have a great little helper in Kaelynn, if she's worn on my back. She laughs when I dig in the dirt. Yet, hates getting her hands dirty.
With this nicer weather, we have been out exploring the backyard and "park". She is far too interested in the little girls that always seem to be out in their yard.
Now that Spring has sprung, hopefully there is no going back ((and I get cute awesome Mother's day garden stuff)).

Crib wars

Doesn't that crib look like a super safe and comfortable place to rest?! Not for this baby. She freaks out whenever she goes near her crib.
Today, I put her down so I could rinse out a diaper. She was in it less than 5 minutes and was losing her mind. I comforted her and kept her in there while I organized stuff to go into the garage (still in her room).
We have tried playing in her room, playing in her crib and no such luck even getting her to sit down.

It breaks my heart that she hates her crib so much. It's only been just recently that she will sometimes nap off me, but those naps are not as long.

Physio Tuesday

We woke up bright and early and made it to the physiotherapy appointment right on time. Normally, I like to arrive early but no one wants to sit in the Children's Outpatient Clinic longer than needed. I spend about 5 minutes trying to make their self check in work. 20 minutes later, we are in the room....when she wasn't trying to run away from the room.

The doctors ask me if I've seen any improvement. I say it's about the same. However; they notice improvement because they see her once every 2 months. Some mom friends we ran into at the mall agree that she is straighter.

I have forms to fill out for a charity to get her a TOT Collar, a doctors note and am now waiting on notice of assessments. They said that she would be a good candidate for the collar. She would only need it about 4-6 hours a day at home when awake (and more so when she is being still/lazy). There are 2 more options, leave it as is and hope as she grows it will figure itself out or small surgery to clip and loosen her muscle when she is older.

We go back in 2 months.

14 Months Old

After a long night of partying and playing all morning, Kaelynn is down for her second nap.
She is now 14 months old.
She is sharing, walking, "talking" and being all out crazy. She is sociable and loving.

There are still no teeth, but lots and lots of hair.

Every day is an adventure with her.
Tomorrow, we have another physio appointment - check back.

Spa life

Recently, I won a free facial from Diva Salon and Day Spa. I had my appointment today. I left the little one home with daddy and went downtown.
Even though I have my Esthetics certificate, I have never had a legitimate facial at a salon. Today was a treat: an hour all to myself.

Diva is very welcoming and professional, the staff are friendly. I arrived and was instanly greeted. I was shown to my room and given precise, easy instructions.

The room was clean, warm, and had relaxation music playing. The esthetician was cheerful and knew what she was doing. I am never one to relax and melt into a sleep, so we had a lovely chat about life. My skin is now baby soft.

If you're looking for an amazing experience for the woman in your life (oh look, it's almost Mother's Day), I highly suggest trying out Diva.

Plague house

Everyone in the house has a cold, except for myself. This is Kaelynn's first cold/illness. I feel entirely useless.

She is currently napping on my lap and has been for almost 2 hours. She feels warm and has a phlegmy cough. She will cough, I will put her upright, and she will still be asleep. I have changed her position so many times this nap to try to help her breathe better.

She has had baby Vicks all over her, Boogie Wipes for her nose, and all the milkies and mama cuddles she wants.
Every time she coughs, it breaks my heart and I just want to cry.

We've made it 13.5 months without getting sick though.
